Artist's Comments

A watercolor painting of Gondolin, the hidden city. The perspective was very hard to achieve, and I'm still unsure if it did come out well.

A breathtaking view, and the panorama of the city has something of an architectural drawing or plan in it. All these squares, fountains and streets remind of the very first Tolkien's concept of Gondolin from the "Book of Lost Tales".

sorry, I can't give you 'Advanced Critique', because I don't draw/paint landscapes...

That is absolutely gorgious! Probably one of the best Gondolin pictures I've ever seen!

now THIS is gondolin..really captures the city the way it feels from the book.. n the perspective from the cliff is perfect..the way the city itself is set looks unique and is architecturally distinctive but not too far away from wat u mite imagine in a tolkien story..just my opinion anyways...

Wow, just incredible!

Amazing!! The perspective works very well! Again very recognizable as Gondolin but still a different original view on it's architecture. Makes me mourn it's destruction even more...

You know, this really makes the Hidden City feel as huge as it was. Most Gondolin pictures show only a cramped burg on a hill, but your depiction finally does justice to the size of Turgon's city.

And it is beautiful and nigh perfect in all other respects as well.

Very well done.
